💡About us
Winner of the "Clinical Investigation Networks, Medical Devices and In Vitro Diagnostic Medical Devices" call for projects launched by the French National Research Agency (ANR) as part of the France 2030 plan, REFeR-RYTHMO comes against a backdrop of tightening European regulatory requirements (MDR 2017/745) in terms of clinical demonstration, traceability and post-marketing surveillance.
Faced with these developments and persistent difficulties in accessing expertise networks for French innovations, the network brings together17 partner establishments, involving 18 clinical departments, 4 Clinical Investigation Centers - Technological Innovation (CIC-IT) and 2 University Hospital Institutes to structure a national support network for projects led by academic and industrial promoters, and thus accelerate innovation in the service of patients.
Our services
The network aims to support manufacturers of medical devices in interventional rhythmology ( defibrillators, pacemakers, ablation devices, software,...) at every stage of their development, from the preclinical phase through to post-marketing follow-up.
The network mobilizes its expertise and resources to offer concrete support through:
- Support in regulatory, methodological, scientific & clinical expertise
- Connection for access to trial sites and technical platforms
- Centralized coordination to facilitate access to investigator centers and take charge of study logistics (recruitment, patient follow-up, clinical examinations...) in single or multi-center trials.
- Support in setting up and reviewing projects
Our fields of application
Thanks to its multidisciplinary resources and its clinical and technical infrastructures, the Référ Rythmo network is able to support all types of technologies, from design to clinical validation, to accelerate their access to the market and improve patient care (implantable devices, electrophysiology catheters, monitoring systems, software and applications...)

Pre-clinical expertise: Explore, test, refine
The network facilitates access to skills and pre-clinical platforms conducive to experimentation (genetics, cardiac neural networks, advanced imaging, ultrasound and mechanics, in vivo experimentation, cellular electrophysiology, neuromuscular systems, digital modeling and simulation, electrophysiological signal processing, etc.) and benefiting from state-of-the-art equipment such as surgical simulators, high-resolution MRI (1.5 to 9.4 T) and photon-counting scanners....

Clinical expertise: Evaluate, recruit, demonstrate
With 18 clinical departments, 4 CIC-ITs and 2 IHUs, REFeR-RYTHMO enables trials to be implemented rigorously and rapidly. Pilot studies, pivotal trials, targeted recruitment, patient follow-up and valorization of results: our expertise covers the entire clinical evaluation chain.
